Since I have not blogged in so long I am not going to try walking you through the last 6 months but I am just going to start with the present and fill in as needed. Ari is running and climbing now and I don't have enough hands or energy to keep up with her at times. She is also teething and has like 6 teeth coming in at the same time! I have been struggling with my mommy guilt lately for many reasons but mainly because Ari isn't really talking yet. Actually she isn't talking at all! I feel like such a failure. What am I doing wrong? What am I not doing? I talk to her A LOT, we read, she points, I sing, she yells and babbles, I ask questions, she grunts and points...etc. I know that one mistake I was making was giving her what she needed/wanted without her asking only because I knew sometimes before she did what she wanted/needed. Now I offer options and repeat them a thousand times trying to get her to verbalize her choice. Well, that pretty much ends in a whining, face grabbing tantrum (by both of us) so I just cave and give her what I know she wants. Am I supposed to let her starve because she won't choose what she wants to eat or thirst because she won't choose water or milk!!??
Anywho, Ari is up from her nap so off I go!!

Blogger FAIL
Well, I started this blog with every intention of making it magnificent, successful and entertaining and I have completely neglected it. I have been so busy with Ari, school and LIFE that I have let my blog fall to the bottom of a never ending list. I plan on getting back on this wagon and I hope that I can regain some of my past supporters. I have LOTS to talk about in the real world of mommy-hood so keep your eyes peeled for more posts, pictures, ideas, thoughts, stories and more!
Talk soon!

What REAL Women Look Like
I found a very interesting site yesterday and I felt I HAD to share. My blog is about what to REALLY expect when you have a kid and this site has the same flavor. It's called My Body Gallery: What REAL Women Look Like. Basically women load pics of themselves (clothed), blur out their faces and enter their "stats" like height, weight, pant size, general shape...etc. It's really cool. I was surprised that when I entered my own stats the pics that came up were not what I expected. The women looked smaller than me. Then when I looked at some that were a few pounds heavier; they looked more like what I thought of myself. CRAZY. The site even references the fact that most women overestimate the size of their hips by 16% and waists 25% yet these same women were able to correctly estimate the width of a box. What is wrong with us ladies??! I recommend that every woman check out this site. It is very educational and worth visiting.

IT'S ALMOST TIME!!!!
I'm not talking about the holidays; I'm talking about TEETH! Well, ONE tooth in particular that is sloooowly working its way to center stage. Ari has been extra fussy these last couple days and so yesterday I stuck my finger in her mouth, slid along the gum line and BAM!!! a little chip poked my finger. I was sooooo excited!! I mean a real tooth is on its way out. Front and center! MY child is going to have a tooth!! Its almost too much for me to handle. I will post pictures as soon as there is something that my camera can actually capture : )
YAY!!!!!

HELP!! crawling 9 mo old doesn't understand the word NO!!
My daughter Ari has been crawling for about 2 weeks now and she is just now gaining enough confidence to crawl off into other rooms that I am not in at the time. WELL, when she starts to get into something she shouldn't, I say "NO" and then "we don't play with that or come over here" and then she goes for it again and I say "stop that Ari" and she stops, looks at me, smiles and then goes right back to what she was doing. What am I supposed to do? My "angry" tone is meaningless apparently. It gets her attention but it makes her laugh. When I remove her from the situation she gets upset momentarily, but as soon as that passes, she goes right back to the scene of the crime. I don't want to "pop" her on her hand or anything yet; it's too early I think, but I am at a loss as to what to do discipline-wise.
HELP!!!!! .
